Nicole Cronin

Teacher

Nicole Cronin is a classically-trained musician with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Ithaca College and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Longy School of Music of Bard College. She teaches voice, piano, ukulele, woodwinds, and brass instruments in a wide range of musical styles. Her students run the gamut of the very young, to the "young at heart", ranging from Pre-K to older adults.

Nicole is a NYS certified K-12 Music Teacher, and currently teaches K-5 general music, chorus, and band. In addition to her voice training, she has over 15 years of performing experience in choral, vocal jazz, concert band ensembles, and theatrical productions. She has also served as Vocal Music Director and Conductor for several community and university theatre companies.

Nicole uses her backgrounds in opera, theatre, jazz, and ensemble performing to provide her students with a comprehensive, holistic approach to hearing, playing, and writing music. She believes that music should be accessible for everybody and is dedicated to discovering the learning style that best suits each student. In order to facilitate her students' musical development, Nicole aims to strengthen the connection between the body, the ear, and their chosen instrument.

In addition to helping students reach their goals, she also offers preparation for any upcoming auditions, competitions, or performances. Above all, Nicole hopes to guide her students towards a lifelong appreciation of music by helping them develop a strong musical foundation in a supportive environment!
