Lisa Romeo

Teacher

Lisa Romeo is an active freelance musician and music teacher in the NY Tri-State area. She can be found in various pick-up groups singing or playing trombone, trumpet, or tuba.

The trombone is her favorite instrument for it can sound as angelic as it can demonic, as majestic as it can be silly! And most of all, it is a great representation of the physics of sound.

Lisa received her Bachelors in Music at Western Connecticut State University, and her Masters in Music History at The Hartt School of Music. Her teachers include musicians from The Metropolitan Opera and The American Brass Quintet.

Lisa’s music history studies also led to learning several instruments more common to early music, including recorder, flute and the predecessor to the modern trombone – the sackbutt.

Lisa's approach to teaching is: to be the guide on a fun adventure where we explore the possibilities, making mistakes and happy finds, all the while progressing to the mastery of the chosen instrument and overall musicianship.
